They were discovered by a mutual friend, met up and were subsequently signed to First Avenue Management (the home of other great artists such as Michelle Gayle, Dina Carroll and the West End remix team), and for a year they got to know each other while continuing their studies (Vernie is an ex-law student) and perfecting their dance routines (Kelle was already a trained Dance teacher), and then a year creating their debut album - "Always and Forever". It attracted talent of USA producers such asBebe Winans and Scott Cutler as well as the UK's Steve Jervier and Dennis Charles & Ronnie Wilson, who collectively had worked with talents as huge as Whitney Houston and Al Green. The first single "Stay" was released on September 20th, 1993, and peaked at number three, followed by the album in late November. After only four weeks, "Always & Forever" had gone 'gold', which coincided with the release of the next single "Save Our Love". They were equally quick to prove themselves as live artists, and followed the top tens hits with a month tour supporting Dina Carroll. Further releases from the album only went further to show how much the music buyers loved Eternal. "Just A Step From Heaven" was released in April of 1994, and reached number eight, and following that "So Good", 'Oh Baby I... / Sweet Funky Thing" and "Crazy (The EP)" were released, reaching 13, 4 and 15 respectively.
